“We want to invoke a sense of wonder and happiness, give people a place where they feel good and enjoy spending time.”
architect and owner of Zeelenberg Architectuur
Zeelenberg Architectuur initiates, designs and develops sustainable idyllic places in cooperation with its partners at exceptional locations for and by the people.
When starting a project we ask ourselves how we want to live, stroll and rest in that particular place while enjoying the surroundings. We begin with the local flora and fauna, the local architecture and culture in mind. That’s what we aim to preserve, and preferably enhance. This way we create a backdrop for our designs, an environment for residents and visitors, now and in the future; a place that makes your heart sing.

Beach clubs, visitor centres, showrooms and amenities buildings should be places where people enjoy spending their time. At the same time, we believe that buildings initially designed as commercial premises should be able to be used for other functions in the future. That, too, is sustainability.
Worldwide, there are virtually no architectural firms with comprehensive knowledge of tourism and leisure development planning. Zeelenberg Architectuur has this knowledge. We have been designing and developing attractive residential areas, resorts and hotels for over thirty years.
who we are
Zeelenberg Architectuur has been based in Ouddorp on Goeree-Overflakkee, the southernmost delta island in South Holland, since its formation in the mid-1970s. Our architectural firm quickly grew into a prominent company under the leadership of Matthis Zeelenberg, who later handed over the reins to Jan-Paul Bron. We specialise in the fields of integral development planning, leisure and the co-development of new projects, This means our work always aims to reflect our philosophy on living, working and relaxing in public spaces.
our project philosophy
We focus on user experience, seek to preserve and enhance the natural and social structure of the environment and look for solutions to realise local ecological, economic and social prosperity. We do this using the three pillars set by the United Nations for sustainable development aimed at achieving a balance among People, Planet and Prosperity. For both present and future generations. Each project is approached, designed and developed on the basis of these three Ps.
